GMOA Temporarily Suspends Strike Action

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Secretary of the Government Medical Officers' Association (GMOA), Dr. Prabath Sugathadasa, announced that the ongoing strike action has been temporarily suspended.

Government medical officers had been engaged in a strike action since 8:00 AM from 4th of April. 

The trade union action was launched to protest against the current medical transfer process.

The strike resulted in severe difficulties for patients across the country. 

Many individuals who traveled long distances to reach hospitals for treatment were forced to return home without receiving any medical consultations or treatment.
