COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) says that discussions are underway regarding the procedure to be followed for fuel issuance, as tomorrow and the day after are odd-numbered days.

The Director General of the CPC, Mayura Neththikumarage said that a final decision regarding this will be reached today.

According to Neththikumarage, the discussion will focus on the decision to be made regarding the fuel distribution after tomorrow, the 31st of March and reiterated that the country has fuel until mid May.

Additionally, he urged consumers to conserve fuel at all times, and use fuel sparingly.

According to the recent fuel rationing system fuel will be issued to vehicles on even days if the last digit of the vehicle number plate is 0, 2, 4, 6, or 8, and on odd days if the last digit of the vehicle number plate is 1, 3, 5, 7, or 9.
