COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Readiness Team (SLCERT) has warned regarding fake web links related to fuel QR codes circulating online.
Senior Information Security Engineer Charuka Damunupola says that fraudulent web links are being circulated via social media and messaging platforms, falsely claiming to provide access to the official QR code system for fuel purchasing.
The statement noted that these deceptive links have mislead users and steal personal or financial information.
Authorities urged the public to avoid scanning or clicking on suspicious, unofficial websites, links shared on messaging apps, or unknown sources published on social media platforms.
