COLOMBO (News 1st); Fuel distribution at filling stations across the country will follow an odd-even system starting today (18), according to the Chairman of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC).
Under the new arrangement, vehicles with number plates ending in an even number or zero will be issued fuel on even-numbered days, while vehicles with number plates ending in an odd number will be allowed to obtain fuel on odd-numbered days.
The CPC Chairman said the measure has been introduced to regulate fuel distribution more effectively and manage demand at filling stations.
Meanwhile, a special provision has been announced for vehicle owners who have so far been unable to download the QR code required to obtain fuel.
According to the CPC Chairman, a special opportunity will be provided tomorrow (19) for such vehicle owners to obtain fuel, despite not having been able to download the QR code to date.
The announcement comes amid ongoing efforts by authorities to address QR code-related issues and streamline the fuel distribution process across the country.
