Committee To Submit Middle East Impact Proposals

COLOMBO(News 1st); The Economic Monitoring Committee has decided to submit recommendations to the next Cabinet meeting to minimize the impact of the conflicts in the Middle East on the country’s economy.

The committee met for the second day yesterday under the chairmanship of Deputy Minister of Finance, Dr. Anil Jayantha Fernando.

The committee was established following a proposal by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake to safeguard Sri Lanka’s economic stability amid external pressures and to protect the welfare of its citizens.

Accordingly, Dr. Anil Jayantha Fernando said that studies and monitoring of all affected sectors have already begun.
