Public Consultation on Electricity Tariff Revision to Begin February 27

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) has announced that public consultation on the proposed electricity tariff revision will commence on February 27.

A three-week period will be allocated for the public to submit feedback. 

The PUCSL said that it plans to announce the final decision on the tariff revision before April 1.

Additionally, the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) recently submitted its proposals to the PUCSL for the electricity tariff revision relevant to the second quarter of 2026.

According to the Commission, the CEB has requested a 13.56% increase in electricity tariffs. 

The revision has been proposed for the period from April 1 to June 30.
