COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Colombo High Court today fixed April 27 for the examination of the case filed against former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, his wife, his three daughters, and his son-in-law over allegations of unlawfully acquiring assets.
The case was called before Colombo High Court Judge Mohammed Mihail.
Under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption had filed 43 indictments on June 26 last year against Keheliya Rambukwella, his wife, and their three daughters, as well as his son-in-law.
The indictment alleges that between August 13, 2020, and June 24, 2024, while functioning at the Ministry of Mass Media and the Ministry of Health, the accused had committed offences under the Penal Code by unlawfully accumulating assets.
The indictments have been filed against former Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, his wife Kusum Priyadarshani Aepa Wehena, his daughters Chamithri Jayanika Rambukwella, Chandula Ramali Rambukwella, Amali Nayanika Rambukwella, and his son-in-law Isuru Pulasthi Bandara Polgasdeniya.
