Tragic Drowning Of Medical Student At Tangalle–Mawella

COLOMBO (News1st): A young man who was bathing in the sea off Tangalle–Mawella has drowned.

Police said a first-year student of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Kelaniya died in the incident.

The 21-year-old was a resident of Kamburugamuwa in Matara.

The accident occurred when he fell into a pit dug for the construction of the Fisheries Harbour in Galbokka while bathing with family members.
