Rs. 50,000 Allowance Disbursed to 70% of Homes Affected by Cyclone Ditwah

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government announced that the Rs. 50,000 allowance has been disbursed to 70 percent of households affected by Cyclone Ditwah.

Its Secretary, S. Aloka Bandara, stated that the payments have reached 115,757 affected houses so far.

Meanwhile, the distribution of compensation to small-scale industrialists and entrepreneurs impacted by the disaster has also begun. 

The Ministry of Cooperative Development reported that Rs. 12.6 million has been allocated to 63 small industrialists and entrepreneurs affected by floods in the Vavuniya District.

The compensation programme aims to support the recovery and re-establishment of small businesses affected by Cyclone Ditwah.
