Female Police Officer Arrested Over Heroin Possession

COLOMBO (News 1st); A female police constable attached to the Badulla Divisional Criminal Investigation Unit has been arrested.
She was taken into custody in possession of nearly 4 grams of heroin.

Police stated that the suspect was arrested during an investigation carried out by the Ambagasduwa Police in connection with a financial transaction conducted via mobile phones.

The arrested police constable is a 37-year-old resident of the Badulla area.

Police further stated that four suspects, including three women, have been arrested in connection with the incident, and that all suspects will be questioned under detention orders.
