Police Search Operation in Giriulla, Goes South

COLOMBO (News1st): One person has sustained injuries after police opened fire during an operation in Nalla, Giriulla.

The incident occurred early this morning when officers attempted to search a truck transporting cattle. 

A person inside the vehicle has reportedly tried to attack the officers with a sharp weapon.

In response police opened fire.

Police confirmed that the injured was initially admitted to the Mirigama Hospital and subsequently transferred to the Colombo National Hospital for further treatment.
