COLOMBO (News 1st); World No. 1 in the Under-11 category, Taavi Samaraweera, continued his remarkable run on the international table tennis stage by clinching another gold medal at the WTT Youth Contender Doha 2026.
Taavi delivered a composed and confident performance in the final, defeating Ryan Almnjoomi of Saudi Arabia to secure the top spot on the podium. The victory further cements Taavi’s status as one of the brightest young talents in world table tennis.
This triumph marks Taavi’s second gold medal of the year on the WTT Youth circuit. Earlier in the season, he captured gold at the WTT Youth Contender in Bahrain, showcasing consistency and maturity beyond his age.
