COLOMBO (News 1st); The Colombo Magistrate’s Court today ordered the temporary relaxation of the foreign travel ban imposed on former Minister Prasanna Ranatunga, in connection with a corruption allegation.
The case was taken up before Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama.
During the proceedings, President’s Counsel Anil Silva, appearing on behalf of suspect Prasanna Ranatunga, informed court that his client is required to travel to India for a religious observance.
He requested court to temporarily relax the existing foreign travel ban imposed on the suspect to facilitate the visit.
After considering the request, the Chief Magistrate ordered that the foreign travel ban imposed on the suspect be temporarily lifted.
