Parliament Convenes Today For First Sittings of The New Year

COLOMBO (News 1st): The first parliamentary sitting of the New Year take place today.

Accordingly, Parliament will convene from today until January 09.

Time from 9.30 a.m. to 10.00 a.m., has been allocated for parliamentary affairs under Standing Order 22.

The time from 10.00 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. has been allocated for questions requiring oral answers, while time from 11.00 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. has been allocated for questions under Standing Order 27.

Thereafter, Parliament is scheduled to debate regulations published in Extraordinary Gazettes under the Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Act and the Fisheries Pension and Social Security Benefits Act, until 3.30 p.m.
