Malinga Named Sri Lanka’s Fast Bowling Consultant

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has announced the appointment of legendary pacer Lasith Malinga as the Consultant – Fast Bowling Coach for the national men’s team.

The short-term appointment runs from 15th December 2025 to 25th January 2026, as part of Sri Lanka’s intensive preparations for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.

Malinga, renowned worldwide for his mastery of death bowling and game-changing performances in the shortest format, will work closely with Sri Lanka’s fast bowlers to sharpen their skills and strategies ahead of the global tournament.

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, co-hosted by Sri Lanka and India, kicks off on 7th February 2026, marking a historic moment for the island nation.
