COLOMBO (News 1st): The Sri Lanka Transport Board says that special transport services are in operation today for the festive season to ensure smooth travel for people returning to their hometowns.
Chief Operations Officer, Sankha Weerasuriya, says that 75 special bus services have been deployed.
Weerasuriya added that these special transport services will continue until the 27th of this month.
Meanwhile, Director General of the National Transport Commission, Nilan Miranda, said that nearly 100 private buses have been deployed to facilitate smooth transportation during the festive season.
In addition, Railway Operations Officer Asanka Samarasinghe says that special train services for the festive season are also in operation today.
