Government Policy Focused On Public Benefit, Not Luxury For A Few - Prime Minister

COLOMBO (News 1st): Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya says that the Government’s policy is not to provide luxury to a limited number of people, but to manage the economy in a way that delivers tangible benefits to the public. 

She added that efforts are also underway to address teacher vacancies and other government officer vacancies in 2026. 

Prime Minister further highlighted that the successful implementation of the Government’s new programme requires strong support from both the relevant ministries and the provincial authorities.

Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya made these remarks while attending the awarding of scholarships to children in the Northern Province, in Kilinochchi, yesterday.

The awarding of scholarships to children in the Northern Province was held in recognition of students who achieved outstanding performances at the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination in 2024 which is implemented through the Presidential Fund.
