COLOMBO (News 1st); With the aim of restoring the road network that has been affected by the cyclone Ditwah, CHEC Port City Colombo (Pvt) Ltd has taken steps to deploy disaster relief machinery and a team of experts for restoration of road networks in the areas affected.
Meanwhile, A financial donation of 10 million rupees has been made to the "Rebuilding Sri Lanka Fund," by the organization and an additional 3 million rupees was raised and donated by the Project Management team of Colombo Port City and the regional office of CHEC Port City Colombo (Pvt) Ltd for ongoing relief operations.
The organization will provide specialized technical expertise for bridge repairs, road reconstruction, and engineering assessments, supporting the post-disaster rebuilding program in Sri Lanka.
To restore the road network, stabilize slopes, and accelerate infrastructure development, 12 construction machines and a trained technical team have been dispatched to the Central Province.
The operations are being carried out on the A5 road, which runs from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya, a vital road network that was severely damaged by the cyclone.
