COLOMBO (News 1st); The Illegal Assets Investigation Division has frozen properties belonging to a suspected drug trafficker named 'Dehibale', including a luxury house and multiple fishing vessels.
Police confirmed that the seized assets include a house worth over Rs. 50 million located in Dikwella, and five multi-day fishing boats found at the Nilwella Fisheries Harbour.
This action follows the arrest of the prime suspect, known as 'Bhumithela', who was identified as the main accused in a major drug bust on September 22 in Tangalle, where police recovered ice (methamphetamine), heroin, and firearms from several locations.
The suspect was produced before the Tangalle Magistrate’s Court today and has been remanded until December 1, according to police.
