COLOMBO (News 1st): As part of Sri Lanka’s nationwide mission to eradicate drug abuse, authorities have established three interim rehabilitation camps in Ampara, Mihintale, and Kalpitiya to house individuals undergoing detoxification before full rehabilitation.
According to the National Dangerous Drugs Control Board, these camps will serve as transitional facilities where detainees will undergo a 14-day detox program before being transferred to main rehabilitation centers.
Specially trained teams are currently being prepared to manage detox procedures effectively.
Officials further revealed plans to expand rehabilitation camps to district level, ensuring broader access for those battling addiction.
