Couple Shot Dead in Tangalle: Five Police Teams Deployed for Investigations

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Five police teams have launched investigations into the shooting of a couple in Kapuhena, Unakuruwa, Tangalle.

The victims, aged 68 and 59, were identified as relatives of Unakuruwe Shantha.

Police say they were shot at around 6:50 pm yesterday, while at their shop, by motorcycle gunmen.

According to police, the suspects who fled the scene, had abandoned their motorcycle in Seenimodara. 

Police confirmed that a pistol was used in the attack.
