Police Commission Approves Key Senior DIG Appointments

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The National Police Commission has approved the appointment of Sanjeewa Dharmaratne as the Senior DIG in charge of Police Administration.

The Commission has also approved the removal of Lalith Pathinayake from the acting position of Senior DIG in charge of Police Administration. 

He has now been appointed as the Senior DIG in charge of the Central Province.

With the transfer of Sanjeewa Dharmaratne, another officer is expected to be appointed as the Senior DIG in charge of the Western Province.

The IGP had formally requested approval from the Police Commission to remove Lalith Pathinayake from the acting role and appoint Sanjeewa Dharmaratne as the Senior DIG in charge of Police Administration.
