Law Enforcement Carries on without Political Interference - Sunil Watagala

COLOMBO (News 1st); Deputy Minister of Public Security Sunil Watagala emphasized today during an awareness program held for representatives of the Maharagama Public Safety Committee that law enforcement is being carried out independently, without any political interference, during an awareness program held for representatives of the Maharagama Public Safety Committee.

Speaking at the event, Watagala said that officers must have the courage to perform their duties free from political authority. 

Deputy Minister also noted that while minor incidents may have occurred in some areas over the past year, the overall movement against crime and drugs has progressed without regard for rank, political affiliation, or position.
