Tear Gas on Rooftop: Police Uncover Hidden Canisters

COLOMBO (News 1st); Police have uncovered a cache of tear gas canisters and ammunition on rooftops of buildings in central Colombo, raising concerns over leftover materials from past unrest.

In one incident, 10 tear gas canisters were discovered on the rooftop of a building located on Flower Road, Colombo 07. 

According to police, the discovery was made following a tip-off, and initial investigations suggest that the canisters may have been hidden during the Aragalaya protest movement by an unidentified individual.

The Cinnamon Gardens Police are currently conducting further investigations into the matter.

Separately, police reported the recovery of a bullets used for T-56 rifle and a 12 bore firearm round from the rooftop of the Customs Headquarters building in Colombo Fort.
