Piyal Manamperi Remanded Again Until November 12

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Walasmulla Magistrate’s Court has ordered the continued remand of Piyal Manamperi until November 12, in connection with an ongoing investigation into the possession of illegal narcotics, including Crystal Methamphetamine (commonly known as “Ice”), discovered in the Thalawa area of Middeniya.

The case was taken up today before Magistrate Malsha Kodituwakku, via Skype, as part of remote judicial proceedings. 

In addition to Manamperi, the court also ordered that Charith Madusanka, who is currently in custody for allegedly providing shelter to Sampath Manamperi, be further remanded until November 12.

The second suspect in the case, Sampath Manamperi, is being held under a detention order and is currently being interrogated by the Western Province North Crimes Division. 

His case has been scheduled to be recalled on December 19.
