53kg of Heroin Found Hidden in Fishing Boat

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Sri Lanka Navy has uncovered more than 53 kilograms of heroin aboard a multi-day fishing vessel in international waters south of the island. 

The vessel was intercepted last night along with five fishermen on board.

Following the seizure, the vessel was escorted to the Galle Harbour earlier today for further investigation. 

According to officials, the narcotics were discovered concealed inside several sacks.
