Newly Appointed Inspector General of Police Calls on Army Chief

COLOMBO(News 1st); The newly appointed Inspector General of Police, Priyantha Weerasooriya, paid a courtesy call on Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo, Commander of the Army, yesterday at the Army Headquarters.

Upon the arrival, he was welcomed by Major General Tiral De Silva, the Adjutant General of the Sri Lanka Army, before being invited to review the Guard of Honour parade.

Afterwards, the Commander of the Army warmly welcomed the visiting Inspector General of Police and introduced all Principal Staff Officers.

During the meeting, the Army Chief and the Inspector General of Police recalled the longstanding collaboration between Army and Police personnel across a wide range of tasks and responsibilities.

At the conclusion of the cordial meeting, the Commander of the Army extended his best wishes to the new IGP for success in his future duties.
