Former Presidential Secretary Saman Ekanayake Summoned by the CID

COLOMBO (News 1st): Former Presidential Secretary Saman Ekanayake has been summoned to appear before the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) tomorrow morning (1st Sep).

The summons is in connection with an investigation into former President Ranil Wickremesinghe over allegations of misusing Rs. 16.6 Million of public funds for a private overseas trip.

Ekanayake had previously provided a six-hour statement to the CID on the August 5.

Sandra Perera, the former private secretary to former president Ranil Wickremesinghe, also had provided a statement exceeding six hours on the August 4, as part of the ongoing investigation.
