Bus Accident Near Komari Hospital in Pottuvil Claims One Life, Injures 57

COLOMBO(News 1st);One person died and 57 others were injured when a bus collided with a road culvert near the Komari Hospital in Akkaraipattu, Pottuvil.

The deceased, a 74-year-old resident of Welimada, was part of a group returning from a pilgrimage from Welimada to Deegavapiya when the accident occurred this evening.

Police said, The injured have been admitted to Komari, Thirukkovil, and Pottuvil hospitals for treatment.

Authorities confirmed that the bus hit a culvert on the road, causing the tragic accident.
