Ranil Still in ICU : Dr. Bellana Questioned By CID

COLOMBO (News 1st); Former President Ranil Wickremesinghe, who was released on bail, continues to receive treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the National Hospital of Sri Lanka, according to Dr. Rukshan Bellana, the hospital’s Deputy Director.

Dr. Bellana stated that Wickremesinghe may be transferred to a general ward by tomorrow, depending on his recovery progress.

Meanwhile, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) questioned Dr. Bellana today regarding a misinformation incident circulating on social media. 

The inquiry was related to false claims that the Prime Minister had visited Wickremesinghe at the hospital.

The CID has recorded a formal statement from Dr. Bellana in connection with the matter.
