Traffic Alert: Borella Lanes Closed Over Subsidence Threat!

COLOMBO (News 1st): Sri Lanka Police announced the temporary closure of the first and second lanes on the road heading toward Colombo, from the Devi Balika roundabout to the D.S. Senanayake Junction in Borella, due to the risk of road subsidence.

In an official statement, police said that cracks and waste water leakages were observed on the road since the morning of Wednesday, August 27, prompting immediate safety measures.

Renovation and repair work is currently underway in the affected area. As a result, the two Colombo-bound lanes have been closed to ensure public safety.

Motorists traveling toward Colombo are strongly advised to use alternative routes until further notice.
