Young Eco-Heroes Honored with Presidential Medals!

COLOMBO (News 1st); The ‘Environment Pioneer President’s Medal Awarding Ceremony – 2025’ was held last morning (21) at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) in Colombo, under the patronage of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.

Organized annually by the Central Environmental Authority in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, the event honors students who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to environmental conservation and sustainability.

This year marked the 11th edition of the ceremony, where 192 Environment Pioneers were awarded Presidential Medals in recognition of their knowledge, activism, and leadership in environmental protection.

In addition to the student honorees, teachers who mentored and guided these young pioneers were also felicitated for their dedication to fostering environmental awareness in schools.

A special commemorative publication highlighting the achievements of the awardees and the significance of the program was presented to President Dissanayake during the event.
