Cyanide Vial Found in Angunakolapelessa Prison

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Department of Prisons has launched a comprehensive investigation following the discovery of a cyanide vial during a search at the Angunakolapelessa Prison.

Officials revealed that the cyanide was in the possession of Tharindu Madusanka, a close associate of drug kingpin 'Kudu Salindu'.

Preliminary suspicions suggest that the cyanide may have been smuggled into the prison with the intention of killing 'Commando Kavishka Kumara'.

Prisons Spokesman Jagath Weerasinghe says the vial will be referred to the Government Analyst for further examination.
