Udayanga Weeratunga, Wife Questioned Over MiG Deal

COLOMBO (News 1st); Former Sri Lankan Ambassador to Russia, Udayanga Weeratunga, and his wife were summoned to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) today (12) to provide statements in connection with the ongoing investigation into the controversial MiG aircraft procurement deal.

Police sources confirmed that the couple was questioned regarding a financial transaction that allegedly took place after the aircraft deal, involving a sum of money deposited into a bank account belonging to Weeratunga’s brother-in-law.
