One Dead, Four Injured in Knife Attack In Kayts

COLOMBO (News 1st); A violent knife attack in the Punkudutivu area of Kayts has left one man dead and four others injured, police confirmed.

The deceased has been identified as a 46-year-old resident of Punkudutivu. 

According to police, the incident occurred last night when three individuals entered a residence and attacked the occupants with sharp weapons, reportedly due to a personal dispute.

Among the injured are two women and two men, who had arrived at the scene in an attempt to intervene and prevent the assault. All four are currently receiving treatment at the Jaffna Hospital.

Police investigations are underway to apprehend the suspects and determine the full circumstances surrounding the attack.
