Internal Probe Launched Into Police Officers Involved In Deer Shooting Incident

Colombo(News 1st; Acting Inspector General of Police, Priyantha Weerasuriya, says an internal investigation has been launched into the two police officers accused of shooting and killing a spotted deer in Galkiriyagama.

Three individuals, including the two officers, were arrested in connection with the incident and are scheduled to be produced in court today.

The suspects include two sergeants attached to the Madatugama and Giranegama police stations.

Police have seized the firearm used in the shooting and confirmed that it was a locally manufactured weapon.
