COLOMBO (News 1st); With the two most recent shootings in Marawila and Seeduwa, the total number of reported shooting incidents in Sri Lanka this year has risen to 73, according to police statistics.
Out of these incidents, 38 individuals have been killed, while 43 others have sustained injuries.
Ongoing investigations have so far led to the arrest of 24 suspected gunmen. In addition, 15 individuals who were riding motorcycles during the attacks and another 150 persons suspected of aiding and abetting the shooters have also been taken into custody.
