Govt Vows Uninterrupted Access to Essential Medicines

COLOMBO (News 1st): Deputy Minister of Health Hansaka Wijemuni stated that the government is committed to ensuring the uninterrupted supply of essential medicines to the public through the state hospital system.

He emphasized that in situations where certain medications are unavailable within hospitals, procurement processes are carried out swiftly and transparently to maintain continuity of patient care. These purchases are made at the regional level to ensure timely access.

The Deputy Minister also assured hospital administrators that the Ministry of Health consistently stands in support of honest and dedicated officials working within the system.
