PUCSL to Announce Recommendations on Proposed Electricity Tariff Hike Next Week

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) is set to release its recommendations next week regarding the Ceylon Electricity Board’s proposal to increase electricity tariffs by 18.3%.

The public comment period, which concluded last Thursday, gathered feedback from all nine provinces.

The PUCSL will make its recommendation after assessing the public proposals, the submission by the Ceylon Electricity Board, and reports on electricity generation costs.

The commission states that the study is now in its final stages.
