Fire at Piliyandala Timber Store Brought Under Control

COLOMBO (News1st) - Fire Service Authorities say the spread of the fire at the timber store located at Bokundara Junction in Piliyandala has now been brought under control. 

However, due to the irregular storage of timber, the fire has not yet been fully extinguished.

Three teams from the Army, Air Force, and Navy are actively assisting in the firefighting operation.

The Fire Service Department of the Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia Municipal Council has deployed 13 teams to the site, with additional support from the Colombo, Sri Jayewardenepura, and Moratuwa Municipal Councils.

Colombo-bound lane of the Colombo–Horana road from Bokundara Junction was temporarily closed this morning.
