Sri Lanka’s Tax Revenues Exceed Targets in First Five Months of 2025

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has pledged to crack down on illicit business networks and black-market operations, emphasizing the government’s commitment to financial transparency and revenue growth. Speaking at the launch of National Tax Week, the President highlighted the country’s strong fiscal performance in the first five months of 2025:

- Inland Revenue Department revenue exceeded targets by 101%

- Customs Department revenue surpassed expectations by 104%

- Excise Department revenue rose to 106% of projected figures
