Kush Hidden in Appliances, Women Arrested at BIA

COLOMBO (News 1st): Sri Lanka Customs officials at the Bandaranaike International Airport apprehended three women attempting to smuggle a large consignment of Kush, a high-grade cannabis strain, into the country. 

The seized narcotics are estimated to be worth nearly Rs. 120 million.

The suspects, aged 18, 46, and 56, are residents of Kolonnawa and Wellampitiya. 

Authorities revealed that the women had arrived from India late last night and had concealed approximately 12 kilograms of Kush within air conditioning units and electrical appliances.

Customs officers intercepted the women during routine inspections and uncovered the hidden narcotics. The suspects were handed over to the Police Narcotics Bureau at the airport for further investigation.
