Transport Minister Makes Seat Belts Compulsory For New Year Travel

COLOMBO (News1st) - Transport Minister Bimal Rathnayake has announced that passengers seated in the back of vehicles will now be required to wear seat belts when traveling on expressways and during long-distance journeys.

The Minister said that this seat belt regulation will be implemented regularly moving forward.

He further announced that all drivers engaged in passenger transport services are also required to wear seat belts, effective from the New Year.
