Close to 900 Officers Deployed For Raids On Illegal Liquor

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Excise Department says approximately 900 officers have been deployed for raids on illegal liquor during the New Year season.

The department stated that 58 excise units, 5 special operations units, and approximately 900 excise officers conducted operations covering the entire island.

According to the department, public complaints have been of immense support in successful raids preventing offenses related to liquor, drugs, and cigarettes.
