Modi Visits Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi: Traffic Plan In Place

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to pay homage to the Anuradhapura Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi this morning.

Due to the visit, a special traffic plan has been implemented around the city of Anuradhapura from 8 a.m. onwards.

According to the police, the Anuradhapura Airport Road, Hospital Roundabout, Aliya Roundabout, Jayanthi Roundabout, and Udamaluwa Road will be closed intermittently.

However, the police stated that alternative routes have been arranged to ensure that devotees visiting Anuradhapura for the pilgrimage are not inconvenienced.

Prime Minister Modi arrived in Sri Lanka on Friday (4th) for a three-day official visit. He is expected to conclude his visit and depart the island this afternoon.
