COLOMBO (News 1st); The recent legal actions against former ministers and MPs have sparked a debate on whether these are acts of political retaliation or genuine efforts to uphold justice.

Transport, Highways, Ports, and Civil Aviation Minister Bimal Rathnayake addressed this issue during a meeting held yesterday (31) afternoon.

Rathnayake noted that the ordinary citizens of Sri Lanka used their collective power to challenge and push out corrupt officials, racketeers, and thieves.

He pointed out that the impact of the people's force is evident in the ongoing legal proceedings against former political figures.

Rathnayake mentioned that the match is not over yet, indicating that more actions are expected in the coming months.

He also referenced a statement by Anura Kumara Dissanayake, suggesting that meetings of former MPs might soon be held in Welikada Prison, as many of them are likely to face imprisonment.
