Israeli Embassy Warns of Visa Scam Targeting Sri Lankan Workers

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Israeli Embassy has issued a warning about an ongoing scam targeting individuals working in Israel on refugee visas, with false promises of legal visas in exchange for money.

Sri Lankan Ambassador to Israel, Nimal Bandara, emphasized that no such process can take place without the direct involvement of the Embassy.

Reports indicate that the group behind the scam has demanded Rs. 1.5 million from certain individuals and has already collected a portion of the amount as an advance.

The Embassy strongly urges the public not to make any payments to such individuals.
