Ex-Politico Remanded for Firearms Possession

COLOMBO (News 1st): Former Provincial Council Member Sanjay Siriwardena has been remanded until the 24th. This decision was made after he was presented before the Acting Magistrate of Attanagalla today.

The suspect was produced in court today following a 48-hour detention and interrogation.

Sanjay Siriwardena was arrested in connection with the discovery of firearms and ammunition on his 25-acre coconut estate in Attanagalla. 

The police found a T-56 rifle, two magazines, 130 rounds of ammunition, a 12-bore shotgun, and six rounds of ammunition during the search.
