Foreign Affairs Ministry Under Investigation

COLOMBO (News 1st); Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Employment, Arun Hemachandra, has revealed that numerous irregularities and instances of corruption have occurred within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 

He made this statement during a program held in Battaramulla.

"We are investigating all these matters. Several investigations into these irregularities have already commenced. We are not doing this for political revenge but to ensure these issues do not recur," he said.

The Deputy Minister noted that officials conducting thorough investigations and have already received significant information.

He said that the aim is to conclude these investigations swiftly, and authorities are not filing cases to target anyone unfairly, but to ensure justice is served. 

"This is not about political revenge; we are taking the necessary legal actions against those involved," he added.
