Translated Excerpt from Testimony:
"Sanjeewa was my brother. Before this incident, he was in the Boossa Prison. I visited him twice a week. I was unaware of the cases against him. On the 19th, I did not know he was brought to the Colombo Magistrate's Court for a case. Around 10:30 to 11:00 AM, I received a call informing me that he had been shot. I immediately contacted Lawyer Lakshman Perera, who said that he heard about the shooting. Later, I learned that he had been shot in court. On the 20th, I attended the post-mortem examination at the Colombo Judicial Medical Office, where I identified the deceased as Sanjeewa Kumara Samararatne. Subsequently, I gave a statement to the Keselwatte Police. My mother and I then took custody of the body."
